Staff Signal Integrity Engineer

Description: As a Staff Signal Integrity Engineer you will be responsible for the design and development of boards and ASIC for next generation multiprocessor computer systems. Create test cases, proposed topologies and simulation models. Write, run and analyze simulations. Propose design changes to fix problems. Evaluate and specify tools and methodology. Work with external vendors to resolve tool and model issues; Develop internal tools such as scripts and parsers for automation, data manipulation and data analysis. Specify measurements and analyze results for validation of prototype and production hardware. Lead and coach other engineers on the team.

Responsible fore signal integrity simulation and board timing analysis for multiple computer designs. These designs include busses operating at over 100 MHz, double data rate transfers and source synchronous busses. Use tools such as SPICE and Quad, as well as develop new tools and methodologies. Work closely with other design and analysis engineers to get first pass design correctness for fast time to market.

Recent experience with signal integrity or analog analysis of high frequency computer systems with advanced signaling technology. Recent hands-on experience with computer aided signal analysis tools such as analog simulators; signal integrity analyzers and PCB placement and routing systems. Experience with SPICE, Quad XNS and Mentor is preferred. Experience with high frequency, board design and layout considerations. Design experience with high frequency, multi agent busses. Experience with GTL signaling, source synchronous signaling and double data rate transfers is a plus. Proficiency with script development and tools such as awk, sed or Perl desired. Demonstrated ability to successfully lead a team of design engineers. Strong communication, organizational, negotiation and leadership skills. Excellent teamwork. Experience with PC office automation applications a plus. Familiar with UNIX as a user, including concepts of file management, electronic mail, and text editing a plus.
